I have found over time that when you have events you are looking forward to, this really rushes the clock along at a rapid pace. Hence, this is my dilemma. Time is going so fast it is almost giving me whiplash :)
I have done many things since my last post. Below you will see a bulk of that, but not all of it because some of my work is for the magazine, which will be out later.
This is ‘Hattie’, she was inspired by the Vintage bullion cabochon ‘Made in India’.
While ‘Hattie’ was being made, the earrings I had been planning on were watching me and begging to be done. I even did a custom pair to match a friend’s dress.
My mind overlaps. While I am doing one or two things, I am thinking about the next thing or two ;)
This entire piece was worked from a bronze precious metal clay cabochon I had worked from another artist. I love unique pieces and this certainly fell into that category! The name of the piece is ‘Zephyr’ named for the ‘west winds’.
In other news, I have applied for the Mirrix Loom Social Marketing event. I thought long and hard about applying because this was the year I was swearing off from too many commitments. I couldn’t help myself ;) You should apply too!! See info below
Mirrix Looms is taking applications for the 2014 ‘Social Market for a Mirrix’.
“We will choose 1 to 3 participants who will get a FREE Mirrix Loom (16″ or smaller) plus kits and projects sent to them bi-monthly from April to December 2014 in exchange for blogging, videos and posts on social media about their experience with the loom and the projects. We are looking for someone skilled in blogging and social media and who will be willing to learn and experiment with diverse projects in either bead weaving, tapestry weaving or both. We will choose our participant(s) on March 17th.”
Rocky Mountain Bead Show is coming up at the end of April! I will be teaching 3 classes there. Click on the banner above and go to ‘Select by Instructor’ I am at the top of the list (alphabetically this works for me LOL)
The pièce de résistance is coming right up. Next week we are going to Phoenix, AZ!! Dave is taking a workshop to pursue self employment. This couldn’t have happened at a better time. So I am going with him for this brief road trip. I am VERY excited as I have never been to New Mexico or Arizona! The camera will be very handy and I will be taking work with me. I get to sit poolside and bead while Dave is in class. How cool is that?!
