Two Spikes You’re Out

This week has been busy, as usual.  Playing with spikes recently and I have made a slew of new hair sticks! For sale on my Etsy page. I have got to get them to my website soon. Those led me to the new earrings I made and a new tutorial. I named them ‘Two Spikes You’re Out’..a small play on words. :D

This design also had the capacity to make a hair stick bobble. I was excited about that!

You can get the new pattern on my Etsy page.

I have also been challenged to make some new items with fish leather. “Everyone is making cuffs, can you come up with something different?”  Well  if you all recall, I made the fish leather amulet bag not long ago, with the same thought in my mind. With that I will have a fish leather posting coming in a day or so with some ideas for you, you will love!

Working Hard

I never imagined I would be so busy, although that has been the goal for a long time LOL I can finally share the Beadwork magazine challenge entry and have a few other things I can share. I just crossed a deadline, last night, for some work and am now facing another one for the end of this month. So sharing will be more frequent now because this upcoming deadline isn’t a secret. :) Here is the work that is in the current issue of Beadwork, Page 13

I have been purchasing leather lately, as you may have noticed in my last post. So I made up some simple cuffs to accentuate the awesome texture or print in the leather. I have a show coming up in June, so I have wanted to ‘throw together’ some simpler, less expensive items.

This one has been sold already:

Red Croc CuffI have a bunch more of these on my table to finish up, in varying leathers and widths. Now to find time LOL

Bead Design Studio was on the shelf yesterday. I have yet to see it, but my Finger Cuffs tutorial is in there. These are the cuffs you will see and learn to make, plus there is a link in the magazine to where I get the blanks. A much asked question for the last 2 years! I haven’t received these back from the magazine to list yet, but if you are interested in one, drop me an email of which one and I will reserve it for you until they ship them back.

Be back REAL soon with more to share!

Busy, busy, busy

Hello my friends! I have been non-stop beading and have all kinds of things to share with you today. First of all, I finished the Kaleidoscope challenge for the Etsy Bead Embroidery Guild! I am very pleased with how it turned out. I named it ‘Electra‘ for the Swarovski after market finish rivoli and Art 1201 stones that embellish the center of the pendant and the collar.

Next up, I had an idea for a tutorial, but it morphed into ‘Guinevere’ . I still have the other idea on the ‘plate’.

The tutorial is available for digital download either on my WEBSITE or ETSY.

The individual cuffs are also for sale and listed, click image to go to the listing on my website.

Let’s talk beading magazines! I am in the June/July issue of Beadwork Magazine from the challenge I did. I am so excited, but cannot list the work until May 7th. You can see it in the magazine now though. It is being sent to Subscribers right now and will make it to the shelves very soon. Very cool, they have this available for digital download!!

That’s all I have for this particular moment. I am going to work on a special project I have been anticipating for a few months now.  Have a great weekend! Don’t forget, I have supplies now too, WEBSITE/EMPORIUM and ETSY. Some anyway, growth will come.

Supplies

Good morning, afternoon, evening, wherever you fall on the map. I wanted to let you know that we have some supplies for sale. On Etsy for now, but will be adding to my website when I have a moment. I noticed not many are selling the beautiful Miyuki 15 Duracoat Galvanized, so I jumped on it and let me tell you…they are GORGEOUS!!  I also added the NEW Miyuki Picasso size 8 beads, which I have also not seen anyone carry. Equally as yummy!! Here are some collages of what I have for now.  Each image goes to the Etsy shop.

I have a piece on my table that I am almost done, then I have to do a new tutorial using the rulla beads!! Then I have to get that last magazine deadline out and then work on the Kaleidoscope piece for Etsy Bead Embroidery Guild due April 30th. This has been a crazy month!! I hope you are all enjoying your weekend!! Off to work…

New Pattern: Hele Bracelet

Hi! I have been beading my fingers to the bone, beading is a great workout for the hands, keeps them thin and trim LOL I can only show you a little of what I have been up to. I have a new pattern out named ‘Hele’ pronounced: (HEY le). It is Estonian or Greek  and means ‘bright shining star’.  :) It is currently only available on my website. The benefit of that is that my website has digital download, so you can have it the minute you are done checking out. My website doesn’t take PayPal, only debit/credit cards, but if you have a PayPal debit card, then you are super hooked up. If you don’t have one yet, why? I love my PayPal debit card ;)

New Tute & New Cuff with Fish Leather

Hey everyone! I have a new pattern out just released this morning.  It uses the gorgeous Czech 2 hole Tile beads and Super Duos. I named it KAIRA

Kaira

Kaira 2

You can get it from my website immediately with a digital download. It is also listed on my Etsy Page. My website uses STRIPE for payment, a full service shopping cart and accepts all major credit cards. If you happen to have the PayPal debit card, it can be used there too.

A week or so ago, I broke down and swiped a piece of my fish leather to make a cuff. I wanted to be able to know how well it worked up. I had a friend message me on Facebook and ask about getting a needle through the glazed fish leather. I have samples of the glazed and tried my #10 Pony needle and had NO problem at all to get a needle through it. The manufacturer I get mine from may differ in processing than other manufacturers. Mine does have a ‘thick’ leather, which I believe I read was due to a heavier coating on the shiny type. I will tell you, the suede works up beautifully and with very little in the way of sore fingers.  So here is a photo of my cuff. I used a fossilized coral cabochon and denim blue suede fish leather.

Listed on my website  Hope everyone has a fabulous weekend! I have to go work up another pattern and I have to finish some work by next Friday for a magazine deadline. Be back real soon :)

EDITED TO ADD: Just a reminder that I sell the fish leather! Well, Dave and I do. I have it on my website HERE  and I opened a shop for Dave on Etsy aka Good Quill’s Hunter. HE will be solely responsible for keeping it stocked. I have enough to do with GQH LOL
