Post Renaissance Faire

Hyvää huomenta-Good Morning in Finnish!! Thought I would share some photos with you from the Winslowshire Renaissance Faire that I was a vendor at last weekend. We had a fantastic time and intend on doing this venue again next year as well! The first night was a tad late when we got there, so we just set up our canopy real quick and thwarted mosquitoes!! We slept in the back of the Subaru the first night..take a note from us, do not do that!! (unless you have TONS of padding underneath you!) I didn’t think I was going to be able to walk all day Saturday LOL Do you know how loud a noise peacocks make?? Peacocks, roosters (the 4am variety!) and donkeys kept me awake for the bulk of that night as well. As a result, the next night in our tent and air mattress, I was so darned tired I heard nothing until the 4am rooster!! We were out cold at 8:30 Saturday night!! LOL

I have been working on my website the last few days and will again today.  I am also waiting for an interview to be published today. ..I think. I will post that as soon as I hear back.  Psyched!!

Next stop—->Bead Fiesta Nashua, NH!! YAY!!! As much fun as I have been having at local shows, Ren Faires and Pow Wow’s, I am for sure anxious for another Bead Fiesta!!!

I have some ideas I am thinking about while I work on my website. I also have to work on the porcelain cabochons I received from Marsha Hedrick and have a set of cabs I need to work up for TorchSongs and Kim V as well….need to get these finished up asap! So be looking for some new work hopefully by this weekend!

Rivoli Twist Tutorial

Hello!! I hope everyone isn’t getting 7″ of rain in a month like we are!! Makes for lots of extra sleep time!! Who wants to get up when it is raining EVERY day??!!

I just finished a new piece and it also ended up being a tutorial!! YAY! The necklace part of this is done in diagonal peyote.

Green Dragon

After a rather uneventful week and not much work done, except mundane household stuff, I have finished a new piece. This piece is called ‘Green Dragon’, appropriately so and for a lack of anything better swirling around in my mind LOL  I spent so much time trying to make it different hat my usual thing, I didn’t take time during the assembling process to think of anything cool to name it. The cab is made by Marsha Hedrick, the first of 14 cabs I have to work on. Her website is Amazing Porcelain and you can purchase more of her outstanding work at her website. I will need to get far better pics of this next week, when the sun may or may not come out, for now I do know it is supposed to rain until next Monday.

TGIF & Treasury

I swear I am always a day late and a dollar short LOL Every time I get a great idea, someone does it moments before me. I have had a list for a Treasury made for several days for cuff bracelets and keep missing the Treasury openings on Etsy. The other day I waited and waited and had 20 mins left, then I got beading and spaced it….missed it by like 10 mins!!! How aggravating is that??!! So this morning I look on Craftopolis to see if I am in a Treasury and lo and behold!! I am!!! CUFF bracelets!! I do have to say though…not one was the one I was going to use..so yay! Now to keep waiting for an opening LOL

Tomorrow night my son is having his second CD release party with is band, The Project Seven, aka TPVII. I am very excited to see how much turnout he is going to get. I am thinking and hearing that ALOT of people are going to be there!! I am so proud of my Nick! I hope he gets to the big stage real soon! He is a phenominal self taught bass player and he is the youngest manager ever for Daddy’s Junky Music, a New England based music store! He manages their Portsmouth, NH store and he will be 26 this September.  My other son, Bren,  is a phenominal computer dude! I am holding out all my pride for the day he says he is going to Full Sail University now (he will be 23 in October). He wants to go there to do 3D animation.  Full Sail is in Orlando and it is a media/vocational school.  Pixar Studios tends to hire right out of there!How cool would that be to go to a Civic Center to watch my son’s band on the barracade and to go to the movies to see my other son’s name roll down the credits at a Disney movie??!! Hey, a Mom can dream! It’s what I do best!!

I am so excited to see a perennial we planted last year came up this year and gave us about a dozen blooms! We bought it at Walmart and crossed our fingers! LOL Here are a couple pics of our Clematis!! What beautiful big and showy flowers they have!

On the beading front, I am expecting a package from Marsha Hedrick any day now!! She makes beautiful porcelain items!!! I met her in Deviant Art and she said she loved my work and asked me if I would work up some of her new product!! She is making a new line of hand painted porcelain cabs! I was very honored because her work is loved by many!!!

Marsha posted some of the cabs she has made in her Facebook page. I am very excited and hope I can give her the finished work she is hoping for!! I have many ideas, now that I am able to see them! So excited!!

Finally got some good pics of this piece. I had to shut the flash off because it blurred the silver out. Thankfully, it is not sunny out today, but a high overcast..the sun is trying to come out LOL  This piece was named after a Russian girl approproately because it is a Russian design, that I have loved for a long time.  I used size 15 beads on this piece and it is 1 1/8″  long  (each motif). I do have to wonder how big it would be done in 11’s!  I have it listed on my Etsy in case anyone is interested

Winslowshire Renaissance Faire

Tell me I am not excited!! I had grand plans tomake a new cover for my tan colored canopy, but the stupid wallet won’t let me! I am not talking about ‘Dave the Wallet’, as he fondly refers to himself I have been trying to think up some ways to kick up my sales, so I can do this, but alas, the brain is dry, except of course for beading ideas!

This Ren Faire is going to be alot of fun! There are 30 or 30+ vendors so far and it sounds like alot is going to be going on. I am adding a pic of their flyer..so cool! I found out yesterday too, there is a blog:

I do have to shorten my skirt beforehand. The one I made for last year was way too long.  I am also hoping it is not like way too hot the last weekend of this month. My clothes were sewn for Fall and no time to change that either. LOL

On the home front, I am working on a 3 bead net of Russian origin. It is super beautiful. I am working it up in black, red and oxidized silver…yes in 15’s!! It would look beautiful in 11’s, which I am sure was original, but it would be a larger size, because even with the 15’s it is a nice size. I plan on working on this for the bulk of today and finishing asap. I did make 3 pairs of cab earrings this early weekend. 2 of them are just plain and bezeled, the other pair couldn’t help getting some fringe hahaha as many of mine can’t help.

Red Dragonfly

I know these are not new, the dragonflies, but I have loved them since I first saw them. Here is my version in a different color scheme from what I have seen.  The bugles are vintage brass from Earthly Adornments.

Age of Aquarius

My latest piece..Age of Aquarius. Dave had originally thought to call it  ‘End of the Rainbow’, but that was when I was going to put gold beads pouring out of the spout. When I changed it to blue, which I love much better!, I renamed it. The rope is an embellished herringbone rope designed by Rebecca Peeples.

Pow Wow Weekend

Good morning! I hope everyone had a fantastic and safe weekend! I had a blast, but am very grateful to be home with a bathtub and my bed! I don’t mind camping out, but you know, there are definitely pros and cons to it LOL I didn’t do too badly, but for sure was hoping for more. I have to give in to the fact that it is not quite summer yet. This weekend is making me change my schedule up a bit and Dave and I have decided that we are only going to do the 3 day weekends and not all the Pow Wow’s. My schedule indicates that I have another one in 3 weeks, but I am going to fix that because we decided it is just a tad too difficult and not worth going for just the 2 day Pow Wow’s.  We took our camera but neglected to use it. I will take pics for the 4th of July weekend, I promise!!

Honestly, I will be very glad to have a few weeks off after this next weekend!! The show after that is at the end of June in Norton, MA. Winslowshire Renaissance Faire! I found myself in a Treasury while I was out of town!! Thank you so much Hawkwolf!!! He does BEAUTIFUL chain maille!

I do have alot of photos to take, but have been way too lazy to take them lately, plus tired. I have been on the go-go-go schedule LOL I will get to them as soon as i can get myself together a bit.

I hurt my shoulder pretty good last night (thankfully AFTER we got home and unloaded the car!) and was unable to sleep on my fave side all night, so I am still out of sorts, tired-wise. I was loudly saying ow ow ow and whining when I hurt my shoulder and Dave is like what happened..you ok?? Ever have sooo much pain and someone is asking you what is wrong from another room and it hurts so bad you can’t even stop wincing to tell them. …here’s a clue, just go find out LOL  Ok, off too see if I can lift my bead table and unfold it and get it back where it needs to go..hope so! I need to get back to work! Have a fab day and will start posting more regularly once I finish the 5 shows in 5 weekends gig
