2010 is Upon Us

and I have a feeling it is going to be a really good, but incredibly busy year, after all my 2010 horoscope for the year includes the word “PROSPEROUS” –I bet everyone’s does, but I will accept as it is meant just for me heeheh

I have been selling my work a lot lately and I am beyond grateful for that and I thank you my fine customers with exquisite taste LOL

I just finished a new piece called Violet Rivoli Mandala. It is basically a spin from my pattern, Rivoli Twist Pendant.

I have been working on beading up some new designs and so far, I have possibly 2 pairs of earrings to design up and one bracelet. In my efforts to clean my table off to get to the layers underneath, I keep getting ideas…it’s driving me crazy, but good for you LOL

Jean Hutter of Totally Twisted Beaded Jewelry, bought and finished my Venus Pattern. It is beautiful and I added her image and link to her shop on my pattern page. Anyone who makes one of my designs, just email me a nice clear photo and I will do the same for you!!

I have been in many Treasuries lately as well. I think posting frequently on Etsy is helping a lot.

Thank you everyone who has included me in a Treasury!!

Today I took new pics of my Fringed V Necklace Pattern, so that is now available for sale as a PDF file!

Click on the image to go to my website. I sell my patterns and jewelry on both Etsy and my website, but honestly, if you buy from my website, it would save me fees on Etsy.  I take PayPal as well, as a matter of fact, I think purchasing from my website is even easier that Etsy.

I am also still working really hard on my website, it is a long and grueling process LOL I am lovin it though!! I am also working on my schedule for this coming year and it is slowly growing.  I have a possible very very cool local venue coming up and I will hopefully know soon and I can’t wait to tell you all!

I wish you all a safe and wonderful New Year! I hope it is a better year for all of us and prosperity flows into everyone’s lives!

3 Days Til Christmas!!

I can’t believe how fast it goes! The second Halloween is over, it is Christmas LOL I have been super busy beading and working on my website and listing on Etsy. I have a lot left to do everywhere LOL Plug, plug away. I have 2 new pieces finished because I need to make another ‘Venus’ piece. I was redoing my pattern jacket and getting that into a pdf before my Microsoft trial runs out.  ( I really need to get that program!!) The next 2 images are the same pattern, one is a variation.

and here is the redsigned pattern cover (click on image to take you to pattern for sale)

I have also been in 4!! Treasuries since my last blog post!! Amazing and thank you everyone!! This first one is currently the only one still active, click on image to go see it.

I have lots coming up!! I have to get in gear to work on my Fire Mountain Gems Contest piece in collaboration with MacArts , I have had all the supplies, so now time to pick them up! I have to finish my black and fuchsia piece, simply cause that is taking up table space LOL  I have a few small things to work up, collaborations to work on with Amazing Porcelain Beads (Marsha Hedrick). I have new patterns to dream up, bead, then design on paper for classes for Bead Fiesta next year, for the class I am teaching at Cape Cod Bead Society next October, some potential publishing that is a secret ;) My next show is  February 7th in Danbury, CT!!! MY all time fave Bead Fiesta show, thankfully we go 2x a year there! I have been redoing my pattern covers and I am closing in on that and working diligently on my website (as always! LOL) BUT!! Have ya seen it yet?? Go check it out! Good Quill Hunting I am getting some good reviews on it for its cleanliness and appearance, so far (and for that I can thank our new camera, which is worth its weight in GOLD!). I think that is all I have to do besides normal life and I have like a month to do much of that in! So, off to work, keep checking my website and Etsy site, always adding, hit the refresh button upon entering LOL

I probably won’t talk to you all again until after Christmas at this point (but you never know with me, I may surprise you tomorrow LOL)

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!!

10 Days Until Christmas!!

Still time to order gifts and get them in the mail! They changed the USPS a little while back and I have to say, they have become a lot more efficient!! If you order, I will even add Priority shipping to that! ;)

I have just finished a custom cuff and earrings set for my vendor buddy Deb, from Kandu Beads! She is such a terrific lady and so I got that shipped out to her today! She really knows her rocks and gems and she also makes amazingly cool chunky jewelry check it out! Click the image to go to her Etsy shop for awesome jewelry and supplies!!!

Here is what I made for her, she had asked for the earrings some time back and she also wanted a cuff like my ‘Sundance’ cuff, so this is ‘Sundance’ too LOL

I have 51 listings in my Etsy shop and have been working a lot on my website, kind of doing them both together to make it easier. I have so many pics to take, I have a lot of finished pieces!!

I have been in a few Treasuries as of late. The first one is gone by now, but you can click on the second image and go click and comment, very beautiful!! Thank you my friends!

I just made a banner for my contest, so anyone may use it to link back to me.

Have a terrific day! I am going to finish that old UFO, if it kills me LOL

Happy Hump Day!

I am beading diligently and really hope to have my UFO finished by this weekend! The piece is turning out just as I had it in my mind! You have almost 1 whole year, so chop chop, get to it!! Drop me some amazing bead embroideries!! or whatever you like LOL  The prize list should be extra large this year too! I already have 2 contributions (although I don’t know what they are yet LOL) and plenty more to come….see details on the link above!

Next up, I was in an really cool North Woods inspired Treasury the last few days! Thank you littlestonedesign!!

and last but not least, my new piece called ‘SUGARPLUM’

and that is totally for sale HERE

I am working on a UFO (UnFinished Object) and it is taking me what seems like forever!!! Hopefully that will be posted in the new few days!

I would also like everyone to know that I will be at the PUBLIC MARKET HOUSE at 28 Monument Square in Portland, ME this FRIDAY & SATURDAY!! (2nd floor) Come see me and buy some sweet gifts for your friends and family!!

Have a marvy day!!!

Treasuries & Such

I have been in a Treasury for a few days..YAY!! Great theme!! LOL

and I created a Treasury!! I about fainted, I sure did not expect to be able to get one!

I am officially going to be at Public Market House next Friday and Saturday, would love to see some of my local people there!!! If all goes well, I shall do the following ‘weekend’ as well! The Falmouth Holiday Boutique fell through. I am on the waiting list, but have now committed to the Market House, so I will be unable to attend, even if they get back a hold of me for the waiting list. I had to get something confirmed! I am going to have to rethink my December for next year! I can’t just stay home! There are sooo many local shows in December around here, and I am sure everywhere else too!

Tomorrow (Sunday), I am going to be on The Jewelry Connection show with Mona. I am not a fan of speaking ‘publicly’, call me shy, even though Mona is such a terrific person and so easy to get along with. I still get nervous! I used to take ‘F’s’ in school if I had to ever present anything to class up in front! WOULD NOT DO IT! Yet, I also teach beading classes…that is different though!  With age, you learn to suck things up LOL

I have a new piece that will be done a little later today! It is called ‘Sugarplum’ and it SPARKLES!!! Dave had a lot to do with the layout of the pendant!! He is so fun!

Have a terrific weekend everyone!!

What’s new..

Hi beady friends and customers! I have been very busy mixing up my time between production, website overhauling and listing my wares on Etsy and 1000markets and of course, endless picture taking!! I am also, redoing all of my patterns into a new cover design! These are my newest items:

My Mom’s Amulet, a custom order from her friend

Sundance which is for sale HERE

I have listed and relisted on Etsy: (click on image)

This one below is also a pendant pattern HERE

I was also very excited to find out I was in a Treasury this past week!!

and one night about midnight, I popped into 1000markets and found out I was on the FP. The FP changes everytime you go to their website, but I was super excited anyway!

I was asked a month or so ago to be part of a group on 1000Markets and promptly accepted!(click image)

I have designed 2 new patterns as well! Click image to see details/purchase:

Also HERE

Also HERE for the Channeled Bracelet

Still dreaming up the new contest as well! I should have that all contemplated by this weekend! I am going to be inquiring about doing the week long vending show in Falmouth as soon as this blog entry is posted. I will let you all know if I will be there in my next post…cross your fingers!!

I went to Caravan Beads last Friday and was shopping around when Jocelyn came up to me and asked if I had seen the new Miyuki beading thread, to which I replied…noooooo. I bought a spool of black and have tried it out and LOVE it!!! You can purchase it HERE! It is nylon and it is 3.50 a spool. Jocelyn said the weight is between C-Lon AA and C-Lon D, to which I concur! It is fabulous and frays none!  Ironically, daxdesigns is doing a thread review HERE. I was also filled in on some info at Caravan about the NEW Miyuki galvanized seed beads!! They have come out with a more permanent finish. I am not sure when they will be available, but I think it is soon. Jocelyn had peyote stitched (right to her wrist) a bracelet made from these new beads and has worn it for a MONTH!!  Not a thing wrong with them!! She also stitched it up with the new Miyuki thread and informed me she has worn it in the shower everyday too (since it is stitched right to her wrist!) It is wearing very well and not a thing wrong with it! Thought you all might like to know this little tidbit LOL

Off to check about Falmouth! I am on a mission to complete many many UFO’s I have kicking around the house, so let’s see if I can pull that off LOL Have a fab day everyone!!

Congrats Gretchen Coats

You are the winner of my Haute Couture Contest!!! For those of you that aren’t aware, this is the stunning piece Gretchen made!

and this was her inspiration:

Thank you ALL so much for the beautiful entries!! They were all winners in my book!! I will be having another one with a year to complete, stay tuned in the next few days!!

*Just a reminder that this contest was voted online*

I was unable to have an Artist friend commit to judging…

Haute Couture Voting

I am sorry to say, that I was unable to find any local Artists to vote for the Haute Couture Contest.  I did make the attempt, but no one ever replied back. So, I apologize. I have taken it into online voting and I had 10 beautiful entries!!

VOTING IS CLOSED

GOOD LUCK!!!

FYI!!! I am going to be having this contest annually, I have decided. It will run to the same deadline for 2010  and I am going to swap out the images to pick from this coming weekend. I will also have an entire year to put up more prizes!!! Stay tuned….

Sugarloaf Show Photos

Alas, the weekend at Sugarloaf didn’t turn out as anyone had hoped, for the mere reason that there was no snow for any skiers to be there. Mother Nature failed us. LOL So now, I am busting my butt to get things online and of course, I had to start changing my website all around. That is going to take me a while, but I hope you will love the end result. It was approved by 3 people before I did it ( Mom, Robynne and Dave), so if you don’t like it, then it is their fault hahaha Here are some images from last weekend! I loved my table this show, all festive. I was super tired when we set up because I had been beading like a mad woman for 2 weeks preparing for the show. I should have flipped my table around so the clothes did the right thing, but I was so tired, the brain wasn’t thinking. I slept 12 hours Saturday night!!

SEE!! NO SNOW!!

Eaton’s Raku Pottery

Lia Sophia

Mainely Alpaca

Mainely Cats

Scentsy

Send Out Cards

Sunshine Pools

Uniquely Music

Upcountry Snowshoes

There were other vendors, but the photos didn’t come out good and 3 vendors left after the first day!! Sorry, I find that to be very unprofessional and thankfully, I don’t know who they were, otherwise I might tell you LOL  Just because a show is not doing well, doesn’t mean you leave. The next day may be a winner and certain customers may have been looking for them, you just never know.

It was nice to meet everyone though and my biz card did go out and you don’t know where those land ;)
